This has such a resigned feel to it, melancholy may be a better word for it. But whatever, it's marked by beautiful vocals, tender lyrics, and professional quality.

Wow.. this is really good. Very smooth vocals, fresh ideas - especially this chorus, it's fantastic.

Not that anybody has suggested trying, but I doubt these lyrics would hold up to being taken out of their context and presented as poetry. On their own, I'm afraid they'd read as trite, clichéd, but here, their more part of the same colloquial language as the achingly beautiful instrumentation and that soft-but-a-little-world-weary vocal. Very “accessible”, I’d think this would have pretty wide appeal.
